Why Analytics Is Non-Negotiable in 2026

Step 1: Create a GA4 Property
Go to analytics.google.com → Admin → Create Property. Select "Web" as platform. Copy your Measurement ID (format: G-XXXXXXXXXX).
Step 2: Install Google Tag Manager (GTM)
GTM is the container that fires all your tracking tags (GA4, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn, etc.) without touching your website code each time. Install GTM's two code snippets in your site's <head> and <body> tags — or use our Laravel Blade integration at Inspiresofts.
Step 3: Connect GA4 to GTM
In GTM: New Tag → Google Analytics: GA4 Configuration → Enter your Measurement ID → Trigger: All Pages. Publish. Done.
Step 4: Set Up Conversion Events
GA4 tracks "Events" instead of Goals. Key conversions to track:
- Contact form submissions (form_submit event)
- Phone number clicks (click event on tel: links)
- File downloads (file_download event — automatic in GA4)
- Purchase completed (purchase event for e-commerce)
- Newsletter signups (custom sign_up event)
Step 5: Install Meta Pixel
Add your Meta Pixel ID via GTM. This enables Facebook/Instagram retargeting ads. Combine with Conversion API (CAPI) for server-side tracking to bypass iOS 14+ limitations.
Step 6: Set Up Google Search Console
Link GSC to GA4 for keyword data directly inside Analytics. This shows you which search queries drive traffic and converts.
